Malaysia Nuclear Science Olympiad (MyNSO) 2026

The Malaysia Nuclear Science Olympiad (MyNSO) is the premier national platform to identify top young minds in nuclear science and radiation physics. Winning this prestigious competition gives students the exclusive honour of representing Malaysia at the prestigious International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO).

TAR UMT's Chiu Bee Chien attained Pingat Perak in the MyNSO Curie-2 screening.
Earned a spot in the national team representing Malaysia at the International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO) 2026 from 2-9 August 2026 in Saudi Arabia.

The 11th IMU Science Discovery Challenge 2025

One of Malaysia's largest school and pre-university level science competition.

TAR UMT was represented by 13 students in the Pre-University level Top 300 Finalists advancing to the Grand Finale. View the Top 300 finalists HERE
In the Grand Finale, we won:
- Best Chemistry Award: Chean Ming Ze
- 3rd Prize: Matthew Kung Wei Sheng
- 4th Prize: Chean Ming Ze
- Consolation: Chim Wen Nuo & Yap Min Yee
Overall, TAR UMT Pre-University emerged as the most represented school in the Grand Finals with 5 out of 32 awards/prizes.

Karnival Kimia Malaysia (K2M) 2025 : Malaysia Schools’ Analyst Competition

K2M is an annual flagship event by Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) and K2M 2025 was supported by Minggu Sains Negara (MSN) under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI). The Malaysia Schools' Analyst Competition is a key feature of K2M 2025 and was held in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, United Kingdom.

In the Pre-University category, TAR UMT achieved a podium sweep of the Grand Final prizes!
- Champion: Gideon Chong Soong Yang
- 1st Runner up: Caleb Tan Zhi Xuan
- 2nd Runner up: Tey Yi You

Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2025

The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is one of the popular international math contests available to primary and secondary school (up to Year 12/ Pre-University) students in Malaysia.

In the Year 12 Senior Division (Pre-University), TAR UMT students won:
- Distinction: Matthew Kung Wei Sheng, Chiu Bee Chien, Chu Hao Yuan
- Credit: Lim Yee Ern, Chean Ming Ze, Emily Toh Hui Ern
- Proficiency: Low Li Wen, Sean Pang Zi Feng, Lee Ying En
